Spring wedding season is right around the corner.

Looks to be an outdoor wedding season once again due to Covid-19. I wanted to share the outdoor wedding shower I hosted for my daughter some time back. All of the little touches added up to create a beautiful, sophisticated and Instagram worthy event.

I had the idea of a romantic color scheme (think roses and flowers) brunch under white tents in the backyard. The first thing I did months before was to start shopping at Savers each weekend to collect different, old fashioned china, vases, linens and serving ware. This was actually really fun to do. It was like going on a treasure hunt each weekend. Most items were under $1.00.

The next step was to hire a company that would bring the tents, chairs and tables. This was the biggest expense, but a must!! You cannot rely on the weather and you must shield your pretty ladies from the sun. I did not rent linens or tableware, this was from my collected treasure hunts.

Decorations were lots of fresh flowers in vases and planted pots to hang from the tents. Paper balls, fans and a flag banner. I added a cute table from the house for the cake.

The menu was brunch with a mimosa bar. I tried to make it fun by putting the bacon on skewers, a donut tree (which didn't turn out exactly like I planned because me husband accidently ate the donuts the night before), pastries, fruit and salad. The drinks where coffee, juices and a mimosa bar.

The favors were chalk-dipped champagne glasses which the guests were asked to decorate, use at the mimosa bar and theirs to keep.

It was a casual event which everyone loved!! For me, being a DIY person, it was the most enjoyable of activities. To put together and throw a wedding shower which turned out so well was a memory of a lifetime.

I had to include a picture of the happy couple.

Best,
