New Obsession -- Pumpkin Vases!

As we all know by now, Americans are obsessed with pumpkins. We have pumpkin lattes; pumpkin beer; pumpkin muffins; and now even pumpkin M&Ms.

Maybe it is because pumpkins create a feeling of nostalgia. That feeling you get when you wrap a warm comfy blanket around you as you are sitting in front of a fire pit on a cool autumn night (sipping a pumpkin latte of course). Or the feeling you get as you are taking a hike in the fall and see the sunlight shine through the leaves of the changing trees. Or maybe watching The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown when you were little. Whatever it is, we are obsessed with pumpkins.

This DIY project will let you take that pumpkin off of your front steps and put it front and center in the middle of your dining room table.

Prep Your Pumpkin:

To create a pumpkin vase, simply carve an opening in the top of your pumpkin and clean out the inside with a spoon. Use the pumpkin as a container for a real vase (a mason jar works great) or you can line the inside of the pumpkin with a plastic bag.

Prep Your Flowers:

A great way to add your flowers is by preparing an English hand-tie bouquet and adding them directly to the vase inside of the pumpkin.

White pumpkins with light green filler, some white roses, pale pink spray roses and dusty miller as an accent creates a sophisticated look.

You have created a centerpiece that will not only be beautiful to look at but will definitely be a conversation piece as well.

Another great way to stuff a pumpkin is with succulents. They will stay alive and even multiply!

Happy crafting!
