Who doesn't like a good before and after picture?! I thought I would update you on the beach house with some good before and after pictures. It is slow going because we do not actually live there, but I think it is working out to our advantage because we (well I because my husband is not allowed to decorate) are taking our time picking everything out and not rushing it.
The house has really good bones. It was built in the 50's and is solid and strong. It is a one-story mid-century modern ranch. The outside is wood with a board and batten design. We basically painted the door and cleaned-up the landscape.

The back yard was a huge transformation. It sits on the cutest pond with a lot of natural wildlife (turtles, fish and ducks) but you could not even see the pond when we bought the house because it was so overgrown. We took out most of the trees and added a pool and AstroTurf. We still need to change some fencing and hide the pool equipment, but it is coming along.

The kitchen was dark and dingy but had really high-end appliances. We changed out the counters, back splash and just did a really good overhaul.

The living room and lanai just needed a fresh coat of white paint and the terrazzo floors cleaned up. The decor for the beach house is boho-coastal.

The guest bedroom and bunk room got new paint, curtains and furniture.

The master bedroom and bathrooms are still works in progress. Another work in progress is a small lanai that we are turning into the pool room.
